3 Tips for Evacuating During a Hurricane

No one wants to believe that a major storm will hit their community, but living near the coast comes with certain risks. In order to remain safe and avoid a potential disaster, you must evacuating when officials give the order. Don’t stay in an unsafe location where first responders will be forced to risk their own lives to save yours or where you’ll be in the way of a hurricane disaster relief effort after the fact. These simple steps will help you prepare for evacuation.

Evacuating

Make a Evacuating Plan

The most important thing you can do to prepare for hurricane evacuation is create a plan well in advance of a storm. Where will you go? Which route will you take? Which vehicle will you drive? Where will you stop for gas? Answering these important questions ahead of time will help you avoid making difficult decisions under pressure.

Prepare Your House

Even though you’re evacuating, you’ll still need to prepare your home to weather the storm. Accept sandbags that your community hands out, and board your windows with plywood. Remove all outdoor furniture, planters, grills, garbage cans and decorations, and place them inside so they don’t cause damage or injury. If you can, move important items from the first floor to the second floor in case of flooding. Finally, take photos of the contents of your home in case you need them for insurance purposes.

Gather Your Things

It will be tempting to overpack when you evacuate your home, but take only what you need because space is at a minimum. Pack the essentials you’d normally take on a trip, but don’t forget about insurance policies, family contact information and safe deposit box keys. Also, remember to take plenty of non-perishable food and water with you, as you’ll likely be stuck in long lines of traffic.

Evacuation is a scary, inconvenient, uncomfortable process, but it saves lives. If you live in an evacuation zone, be sure to put a plan in place now so that leaving is as efficient as possible.…

The Need for Innovation in Fashion

My first big purchase shortly upon moving into a beautiful apartment in Brookline and starting my first post-bachelors full time job was a set of antique bedroom furniture. The 1930's flowing lines, the intricately carved flowers, the walnut inlays, cedar lined drawings and the Bakelite draw pulls were enough for me to overlook the major drawback of the set – the dresser / armoire had only about a foot of space for hanging clothes.

This was in 2006, the high reign of fast fashion, and my closet was overstuffed with clothing from Zara, H & M, Nordstrom Rack, Filene's Basement and TJ Maxx. The multi-fiber agreement expired a year prior, online clothing sales were gaining speed and increasingly optimistic with b & m, and the ever-multiplying number of stores was flooded with a dizzying variety of inexpensive, trendy clothing. It looked like the golden age of fashion: even with a modest entry-level salary I still barely won a party dress more than once per season, and the plethora of my perfectly coordinated outfits could have launched a lifestyle blog. The 1930's, with the hand-produced wardrobe enough to fit into a foot of hanging space seemed very far away indeed.

Yet as could be expected in retrospect, the bubble burst. I'm not fully sure yet if it was the exposure to the socially aware and innovative spirit of Cambridge, the financial crisis of 2008 and the recession that followed, or the greater awareness of the world that greater than my addiction to the iPhone and all the news / blogs apps. The endless choices of soft printed shirts, ruffled blouses, skinny jeans, fitted dresses and a shoe collection to fit every passing fancy, were all beginning to feel stifling – more so with each and every news article about the sweatshop labor and the environmental impact of throw away fashions.

The basic way that clothing is made has not changed much since the introduction of the sewing machine. Apparel manufacturing has remained a low technology, labor-intensive process. The decreasing tariffs of the 1990's encouraged the shift of the most labor-intensive part of clothing production to industrializing countries with abundant low-cost labor and typically fewer safety regulations and government oversight. Incidentally, this also bought apparel production geographically close to raw material manufactures, such as Uzbekistan's cotton and China's leather. Shifting production from the developed to industrialized countries continued to bring the cost of garments down, while at the same time discouraging technological innovation on the production side.

The Fashion innovations of the 2000's mainly came in a form of using technology to optimize company operations. Following Zara's breakthroughs in responding to customers and bringing new concepts to the stores in as little as 3 weeks, fashion companies focused on quick turn around, increasing variety and lower production costs. The growth of the fast-fashion retailers, in combination with further lowered import barriers ,ave these companies the leakage to push for faster turn around and lower prices from the apparel manufacturers in, among other countries, China, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Tunisia.

The disaster in Bangladesh stresses the need for change in the Fashion Industry. Clothing production should never be a deadly business. Fashion, and fashion production, simply can not stay the way that it is now. While people are becoming increasingly aware of the real costs of disposable fashions, and in response are changing the ways that approach and consume fashion, the demand for clothing will continue to grow with the growing populations and improving living standards. This need for growth challenges us to envision a better fashion future.

What will be the fashion innovations of the next decade? These innovations can not simply be in design – with the globalization of the fashion industry and a fashion week happening every single week somewhere in the world, the true innovations with an impact to change the industry are unexpectedly to come from new designs using the existing materials . Simply stated, everything has been tried, and there has not been anything new in fashion design in ages.

Will the fashion innovation then come from using new materials? Recently I've come across a video featuring Bradley Quinn discussing the Fashion Future, and the material innovations currently in development. Self-cleaning clothing, clothing with embedded technology, garments that protect and make us stronger seem just around the corner. Yet how will these be produced? Perhaps they will be self-assembled, or painted-on, as some have suggested. However exciting, these ideas still seem far away from implementation.

Even if the fabrics of tomorrow are ready to be introduced in the next season, material innovations alone will not address the all of the problems currently faced by the Fashion industry. While it is easy to envision new fabrics and material technologies as supplementing the choices we have now, they are illegally …

Ray-Bans – An American Revolution

Ray Bans has long been one of the most popular makers of sunglasses. Thanks to a huge celebrity following, these fashionable sunglasses have been the favorite of the general public as well. Ray Ban aviators and Ray Ban wraparound styles are the most popular, and they offer unmatched protection for your eyes. But where did the famous Ray Ban name come from? And how did they rise to fame?

When he contacted famed lens maker Bausch and Lomb, he asked if they would create him super-protective sunglasses that would also look great. The first pair of Ray Ban aviators was a hit. They became a necessity within the United States Army and Air Force during World War Two.

Later on, the entertainment industry caused a swell in Ray Ban sales as they used the stylish sunglasses in movies and TV appearances. The first such movie is the accused Breakfast at Tiffany's, in the opening breakfast scene. Later they would appear in such movies as The Blues Brothers and Risky Business. Finally, in 1997, Will Smith commented on his Ray Bans in Men in Black, skyrocketing them to mainstream popularity.

Evolution of Traditional Indian Clothes – Sherwanis for Men

A Sherwani is an Indian equivalent of a western suit. It is considered a formal garment that is worn for important events in India. The Sherwani has evolved over time and typically reflects the cultural, political and economic situations that exist in the country. Currently in India, Sherwanis are preferred for weddings by the grooms. As a formal piece of clothing, the Bandhgala takes preference for men – but there is a history for Sherwanis that is rich and describes some commentary.

Sherwanis for men are two-piece garments that are comprised of,

– Jacket: The length is waist length, long sleeves and usually with a Nehru collar

– Pants: Normally styled trousers or a tightly fitted trousers called a churidar

An optional extra accessory is usually a scarf that is worn around the neck. This can be embroidered, printed or just plain – normally in bright colors. The scarf is typically worn for festive occasions like weddings or festivals and seldom for formal occasions. Sherwanis are versatile garments that are worn for formal and festive occasions alike but the styling is changed to suit the occasion.

Cultural Influences on types of Sherwanis

The Sherwani can be styled in a modest manner that is lightly embroidered and detailed or it can be heavily embroidered. Many communities in India frown upon very heavily embroidered garments and prefer simpler styles. This is no doubt related to the cultural sensitivity of being modest and not showing off material wealth.

On the other hand, Sherwanis worn by certain communities like Punjabis and Sindhis tend to be richly detailed and embroidered. These communities take pride in showing off their wealth.

Economic Influences for Selecting a Sherwani

Economics situations also influence the type of detailing and fabrics used for Sherwanis for men . Silk and linen are expensive fabrics that affluent communities can afford. Less affluent communities tend to use cheaper silks and blended fabrics like cotton-silks for their Sherwanis.

Political Statements through Sherwanis

Politically, Sherwanis have been used to make minority statements about national identity and for distinguishing an Indian style of dressing from the western style of dressing. One can see Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru as a classic example of an Indian who was Sherwani suits for key political events.

Conclusion

The history of this traditional garment is rich and has many aspects that influence the styling. The Sherwani is a garment that is worn with pride by a lot of people and has served multiple purposes over time. It continues to be the choice for festive and wedding celebrations.

What Are the Differences Between Men’s and Women’s Glasses?

The right eyeglasses can really accentuate everything from your eye color to your face shape. Take the time to really consider the look of your eyeglass frames so that you can choose the right item for you. It’s important to note that men’s and women’s eyeglasses are quite different. Though there are many unisex options available today, there are some subtle differences between men’s and women’s eyeglasses. The following are just some of the differences to consider.

One of the biggest differences between men’s and women’s eyeglasses is the size of the frames. Men tend to have larger bone structure and heads. Additionally, their eyes are usually father apart. Thus, men’s glasses tend to have a longer bridge and sometimes even longer temples to accommodate for this change. You may still be able to find unisex frames that accommodate for this size difference. Still, chances are that if you are looking at men’s eyeglasses, they are much wider than women-focused frames. Remember that many places will resize frames to fit your face. Keep this in mind when looking through the eyeglass selection.

The shape of the frames is another key difference between men’s and women’s eyeglasses. As mentioned above, men tend to have larger faces. Thus, the frames on men’s options may be much larger than those of women’s options. Men tend to go for square or rectangle type eyeglasses whereas women usually invest in rounder options. Still, the current trends for both men and women are for angular type eyeglasses.

Color is another difference between men’s and women’s eyeglasses. Often, men go for glasses in dark or neutral colors: brown, black, gray, steel, and dark blue are all common colors for men’s eyeglasses. Women have more flexibility when it comes to their frames. They can go from bright red or checker patterned frames to dark brown or black. Often, such colorful eyeglasses will be built with women in mind. Thus, if a male did want to invest in colorful frames, he may find that they are too small.

There aren’t many differences between men’s and women’s eyeglasses. Really, the differences are based on the size, shape, and color of the frames. More and more eyeglasses today are being made to fit both genders. Thus, more and more options are appearing. The only way to find glasses that are right for you is to take the time to shop around and to try them on. You never know which items will look best with your face shape. Once you slip on the right pair of eyeglasses, you will know: It’s like slipping on a glove. Take the time to try on as many pairs as possible until you find the eyeglasses that are best for you.

4 Tips To Spotting Fake Ray-Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses

The Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses have been around since the 50’s. To call them popular is an understatement. Flip the pages of an entertainment magazine and chances are there will be at least one photo of a celebrity with a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers on.

But being an iconic eye-wear model which is arguably the best-selling model sun-glass model ever, has one major drawback – the presence of countless fakes.

Fake Wayfarer models are everywhere, on the internet as well as at your friendly neighborhood mall. Fakes are getting harder and harder to detect as many come quite close aesthetically the originals. But using fakes may cause damage to your precious eyes in the long run because fake Wayfarers lack the original’s technology.

Fortunately there are still a few ways in which you can spot a fake.

The Price

This may seem a bit too obvious but you are not going to find a brand new pair of authentic Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses for $30 anywhere. Even the Junior Wayfarer models costs more than that. However, just because a pair of Wayfarers cost more than $100, does not mean it is authentic. It could be just some unscrupulous seller trying to improve his margins by hiking up the price to fool unsuspecting customers.

New Owners

Not many realize this but Bausch & Lomb sold the Ray-Ban brand to Milan based Luxottica in 1999. So models manufactured after that date should have the text “100% UV Protection – Ray-Ban – Sunglasses By Luxottica” printed on the seal on the case. Any model post 1999 that has “Made in USA”, “BL” or “Bausch & Lomb” printed on it is a sure fake.

Some fakes get all the visible prints correct but still have the initials BL etched on the lens. Most probably because they did not want to waste the lenses. Originals will have the initials “RB” etched on the corner of the left lens.

Inconsistent Model Number

Wayfarers come in different models and each model has a model code. For example, RB2140 and RB2132, which represent the original Wayfarer model and the new Wayfarer model respectively. Sometimes, the fake sunglasses do not display the correct model number on the inside of the temples. So be sure to check this out when you buy a pair of Wayfarers.

Logo On The Outside Temple

Fake sunglasses also have the Ray-Ban logo on the outside of the temples just like the originals. But on closer inspection, you will notice that the fakes have the logos glued on while the logo on authentic Wayfarers are actually part of the temple.

Ray Ban – Useful Information About Ray Ban Sunglasses

Perhaps no other brand is as well known as that of Ray Ban sunglasses. For more than 70 years the look of Ray-Bans has dominated the silver screen and pages of fashion magazines. The standard in dark lenses and heavy plastic frames has long been recognized for its "incognito" image.

Was not it Lauren Bacall who first wore them in film? Maybe not but everyone remembers at least one old B & W film star who looked great in the quintessential Ray-Ban. Stars are still seen wearing these major brand name sunglasses anywhere that people pretended to avoid the press. Ray-Bans have been making the scene so long that they are now producing a retro Original Wayfarer style.

Signed and available in several fashion frame colors, genuine Ray-Bans say summertime in a universal language. Pink, tortoise shell, turquoise, two-toned and a whole range of colors there is just something casual yet designer about these shades. The Luxottica Group sells Ray-Ban Sunglasses to discerning fashion aficionados of all ages. Ray-Ban juniors are sold for those just starting to notice fashion.

Most Ray-Bans are sold by model number while others have both a style name and number. These can be found online at auction sites with fairly high price tags. For instance the RB 3267 and RB 3293 aviators run nearly $ 100. The RB2940 Wayfarer is a little more expensive. The best idea is to buy that favorite Ray-Ban style when ever and where ever it can be found at a better price point.

Once the Ray-Bans are admitted at whatever price they should be ruthlessly protected since these have the potential to become collectable one day. Carefully stored vintage Wayfares fetch a handsome price. They no doubt compliment the Hawaiian Shirts with coconut buttons and wooden surf boards. Collectible or investment dressing they are always a favorite possession.

Fortunately there are lots of Ray-Ban styles that are far less expensive. The style and name brand that consumers have loved for generations are available to all budgets. For those who do want to spend more though the Ray-Ban limited edition signed and numbered ultras were injected. Limited edition means that the RB8028K and the RB8029K will be instant collectibles. Investment advisors all agree that buying what you like is the best way to invest. This is great advice to Ray-Ban fans.

Modern apparel may require the latest styles. Ray-Ban sunglasses offer new styles as well as time honored classics. Pastels, lightweight or even clear sunglass frames are available too. No one will inspect the entire Ray-Ban sunglass line without finding something that is flattering. No face is too wide or too narrow. No one is too young or too old. All will find something of interest in the Ray-Ban collection.

There are lots of ways to stretch a budget. The wise consumer is one who can buy something needed then use it for decades and then resale it on the collectors market. No one is wasting money on a proposition like that. Put your vision in the hands of the professionals at Ray-Ban for that endless summer.

Plus Size Maternity Clothes

Women in the past who have shopped for plus size clothes knew the styles and selections could be less than desirable. Women who are plus sizes want to try different trends and styles but they are disappointed to discover certain trends and styles do not come in their sizes. The same can be said for maternity clothes. Fortunately for plus size pregnant women this trend is changing. There are many more style options today than in the past. With so many options it can be confusing for women to know whether they should buy plus size maternity clothes or not. The following is a guide for plus size maternity clothes and the differences between them and straight size clothing.

Plus maternity clothes are usually clothing that starts at a 14W and goes up from there. They can also be referred to as "women's maternity clothes" which can be very confusing because all maternity clothes are for women right? Most commonly, plus pregnancy clothes are looser fitting particularly in the areas of the breasts and arms. Many companies make both plus size and straight size clothing but that does not need to mean that they make the same fashions, styles, and cut in both plus and straight. Some companies do not make a plus size in their maternity lines and others only make plus in their maternity lines. So if you are looking for a specific brand or style make sure that particular line comes in plus.

Straight sizes are what people commonly refer to as "regular" sizes. These sizes would start at a size zero and count by twos up to a size fourteen. Many people in the fashion industry today have quit referring to these sizes as "regular" sizes because there is a negative connotation attached to women who do not fit in these sizes as being irregular. This definitely should not apply to plus size women or plus size pregnant women who make up roughly 40% of the female population.

Plus size do fit much differently than straight size or extended size maternity clothes of similar sizes. Straight sizes are usually based on a model who is a four or six and the clothing is graduated up or down based on that model's proportions. Plus pregnancy clothes use a sixteen or eighteen model and grade the clothes up or down based on that model's proportions and these two models have very different bust, hip, and waist proportions and ratios from one another, creating the difference in not only size, but also in the fit of plus size maternity clothes.

As frustrating as it may be there is no standardization when it comes to women's maternity sizes. Each store, each designer, and each style could all list the same size, but still fit the same person completely differently. Make sure when you are buying plus maternity clothes you try the clothes on to determine what does and does not work for you.

Sunglasses Guide For Beginners

Sunglasses are one of the most fashionable accessories known to man. Celebrities have known this for years, its there way of saying, I'm too important and good looking to even make eye contact with the average Joe. However for one of us normal people to pull the sunglasses look without looking like a seventies throw back can be quite difficult.

The original sun glasses were more practical than fashionable, designed to shield ones eyes from direct sunlight. As scientists started to realize the dangers of Ultraviolet radiation, sunglasses became a popular beach accessory. Once the fashion conscious beach crowd started to wear sunglasses regularly, the designer brands got involved. Since the 1950's there has even been pop and rock songs that mention sunglasses.

Its very very easy to look bad in sunglasses, what many people do not realize is the fact that you have to get a pair that matches the shape of your face. Even after all this time, the sunglasses in the Matrix are still cool.

As a general rule of thumb, you are best going for a pair of sun glasses with the opposite shape to your face. For example, if you have a round face, square sun glasses usually work well.

Designer Sunglasses

Designer sunglasses are highly worn after which makes fake ones very common. Buying your glasses from a reputable store is usually a must. However, a pair of fake cheap sunglasses can often be a worthy purchase, as you will not be too upset if you leave them on a beach or in a restaurant. I would be quite upset if i left my Oakley's in a bar.

Three classic designer sun glasses to consider when making your purchase are Oakley, Dior and Chanel. These are great designers that have been creating beautiful eye wear for years.

Oakley sunglasses are efficient in combining beautiful design with high-tech materials such as titanium for frames or plutonite for the lenses. Oakley's are a popular choice in the sports world as there lenses are second to non.

Dior sunglasses are popular among the fashion world and celebs. Weaving a pair of Christian Dior sunglasses will make you feel a part of the high class fashion world and will also get you noticed, depends on the circles you travel in of course.

Chanel sunglasses provide an elegance that makes any woman wearing them feel full of femininity and grace. Like anything Chanel however, expect to pay top prices.

Remember that popular brand sunglasses are usually expensive so you are best shopping around to get the best deal. Bear in mind that if you see a deal that's too good to be true, nine times out of ten it will be. Nobody likes being ripped off so be careful when making your purchase. Avoid like the plague market stalls when your on holiday.

A good pair of sunglasses will last you forever, and will stay in fashion nearly as long, just look at the classes Ray-Ban Wayfarers.

Passing a Drug Test Using Clean Pee without Taking a Detox Drug

With each passing day. Advancements in testing techniques make it harder to pass drug tests. This is a big headache for stoners applying for new jobs or if your employer is one that is always asking for occasional tests mid-job. If you find yourself in such a situation, a simple search online will turn up some very interesting solutions for beating a drug test. The most commonly recommended way out is to buy detoxification drinks. These are product that claim to rid your bladder of toxins long enough for you to submit a clean pee for urine drug test.

Passing

The problem with this method is the probability of getting an authentic detoxification drink that actually works. There are a lot of fakes in the market which means your chances of ending up with a detox drink that doesn’t work is quite high. That’s not to mention the possibility of side effects that have been reportedly associated with taking detox drinks by many users. Are there other ways to pass a drug test without necessarily taking a detox drug or drink? Here are some other possible solutions you can explore

Swap your pee

Here’s one of the surest ways to beat a drug test without having to drink anything or alter your lifestyle drastically to stay clean. You can simply swap your own urine for another one and present it as your sample. But this isn’t always as simple as it sounds.

First, you have to ask a friend for passing an awkward favor. It’s not easy to walk up to anyone and ask for their urine even if you are close friends with the person. But that’s not even hardest part of the deal. Assuming you are able to get past the awkward request, you will have to be sure that the person you are asking for the sample is clean as well. After all, that’s the only way you will be sure that you are submitting clean pee. If your friend is stoner too or has been exposed to marijuana in any other way recently you will still end up failing the test.

Passing Urine Characteristic

That’s just one part of the challenge. The other issue is smuggling the clean urine into the testing clinic and swapping it for yours when you are asked to go into the cabin to urinate. Testing clinic anticipates this move and you will most likely be checked for it.

Even if you succeed with this, there is yet another hurdle to scale. Fresh pee is always warm, and testers know this. So unless you figure out a way to heat your smuggled sample up you might still be in trouble. You can click here https://toketitans.com/keep-synthetic-pee-warm/ to learn how to keep fake urine warm.

Also, if you leave pee out for more than an hour it will start smelling bad which another issue you will have to fix is. At the end of the day if you figure out how to fix all of these issues you might just be able to beat that test with a clean sample from your friend, neighbor or colleague.

Drug Test

Synthetic Urine

Unless you have been in the game of trying to beat urine drug tests for long, you might not be familiar with what synthetic urine is. But it’s a pretty smart solution for beating a drug test without all the awkwardness of asking a friend for passing a clean sample or the hassles of smuggling it in and warming it up.

Synthetic urine as the name already implies is cooked up in a lab. It usually comes in powder form but once liquefied, it will look exactly like normal pee complete with the same composition of clean urine. Find out more about synthetic urine here. There are a lot of synthetic urine products in the market today. A simple search online should turn up some great results. You can also order for synthetic pee online and have it delivered to you directly as soon as possible.

Passing the Test

Of course, you will still have to think about how to smuggle in your synthetic urine into the testing clinic. It shouldn’t be as hard as trying to smuggle a vile of pee undetected. You can check online for smart ways to conceal items like buying an incognito belt or any other related alternatives. Another issue you might face is the fact that synthetic urine is a bit expensive especially if you only plan to use it just once. But if your employer is always asking for tests then this won’t be a bother.

The final challenge is heating it up since your sample will tested for temperature. Now, this can be challenging for some synthetic urine products. But great ones already have heat activators which …
