How to Remove Sour Milk Smell

The odor of spoiled milk is traditionally very difficult to remove. Fortunately, there are some relatively simple and inexpensive solutions. The sooner you clean the smelly spot, the greater your chances of restoring a fresh scent to your room, house, refrigerator and house-on-wheels.

Aside from that, the smell of spoiled milk can be quite hard to remove on your clothes, especially your baby’s clothes, since babies have frequent access to milk and are most likely to spill milk on their clothes.

Baby clothes can be expensive and the kids grow out of them before they can possibly wear them. Often these adorable little outfits are passed on to another child; however, even though they are in good shape, they still have that telltale odor of spoiled milk that is almost impossible to get rid of. As always, there are ways around this dilemma.

Sour Milk Smell Removal

Avoid spilling milk if you can. Also, do not cry over the spilled milk if you indeed spilled it anyway. Do something about it instead.

* To remove stale milk smells, you first need to remove all the spilled stale milk. Use warm soapy water and perhaps some washing up liquid and clean up the affected area thoroughly first.

* After the mess has been cleared up, soak the area in white vinegar and mop up with paper towels. Put up with vinegary smell for about a week and after that, not a sign of vinegar smell or that horrible milk odor will remain.

* You can use an air freshener in the affected car to ensure a pleasant smell. Just try to let it dry for as long as possible. Soon, the milk smell will have disappeared from your surroundings.

* Use a commercial leather cleaner and odor eliminator on the leather upholstery of your car. Your dealer may carry these products. Allow the area to dry completely: residual moisture can cause mildew. Use a hair dryer or fan if necessary, being careful not to scorch carpet fibers with the hair dryer.

* You can also pour baking soda over the area where milk is spilled. Sprinkle some cold water on top of the baking soda and let it stand overnight. You can vacuum it the next day to remove the residue. If the smell still remains, you can try treating it with an enzyme odor remover.

* Take a bottle of club soda, stick your finger inside and shake to get a fizz going. With your finger still in bottle, spray on the stinky milk stain. Get it wet but not soaking. The smell might be worse at first but that it will go away as the whole thing dries unlike the untreated milk odor, which will only worsen as time passes by.

* You can also use brake cleaner if you’re particularly desperate, but use it moderately and only on carpets, rugs or hard surfaces. Just put a small dab on a clean cloth, blot the milk stain and rinse with soap and water.

If it’s baby clothes that are affected by the milk stench, then you could do the following: Fill the washing machine with hot water. Fill it at least high enough for a medium load. Add a cup of laundry detergent with one cup of dish washing detergent. Run the machine for a few minutes to mix the combination well. Turn the washing machine off.

Put the smelly baby clothes in the solution in the machine and leave them there. Let them soak overnight in the solution. Then, In the morning turn the washing machine on and let the clothes run through a full cycle. Add a tablespoon of vinegar to the rinse cycle. Vinegar is the choice product for general bad odor removal.

Finally, add a second rinse cycle to make certain that all the detergent residue gets rinsed out of the clothes. The baby’s clothes, as well as your clothes, if you’ve tried this method on those as well, will be smelling fresh and clean by the end of the process so be proud of your work.

Proper Lighting For a Jewelry Store

Proper store lighting can attract more customers to any establishment, help sell more product, and strengthen a store’s image. Many designers argue that the most important element of a store’s design may be its lighting. Unfortunately, lighting is often the most neglected component of store design.

When choosing the lighting for any store or display cases, here are a few ideas to keep in mind.

Ceiling Height: The height of a store’s ceiling is one of the most important factors that goes into a plan for lighting a jewelry store in such a way that the merchandise looks spectacular. As the source of light moves farther away from the merchandise the power and intensity of the light diminishes. Stores with higher ceilings (over 9′) face some challenges with lighting. Stores with ceiling that are taller either have to use more lights that are spaced closer together to illuminate a showcase or bring the light source closer by dropping down a track or using a pendant.

Color: The color of light is measure in Kelvin (temperature). The higher the temperature (Kelvin) reading the cooler the color of light and the lower the temperature the warmer the color. For example a light that is 3000K would be a warmer color and a light that is 4000K would be a cooler light. As the temperature of light gets too high (over 4200K) the color of the light begins to take on a blue quality. Lights that are in the 5500K to 6500K will look “blue” to the eye.

Bulb Life/Quality: How long a bulb is expected to last is based upon its “rated life”. The better bulbs have a rated life in excess of 10,000 hours. The quality of a bulb can also be measured by its CRI (Color Rendition Index). The higher the CRI of a bulb the better the quality of the light that it projects will be. CRI numbers over 80 signify a very high quality of light. CRI numbers over 90 signify an exemplary quality of light.

Power of Light: The power of a bulb is measured in lumens. The amount of light that is generated is measured in Lux or, more commonly, in foot-candles (“fc”). The higher the lumens the higher the amount of foot-candles that will be generated by the bulb.

Different Light Sources: There are three main sources of light that are used in Jewelry stores. They are (1) Ceramic Metal Halide (2) Halogen (3) Fluorescent. LED technology is being used more and more but is still far behind the main three. The best source of lighting for jewelry is still Ceramic Metal Halide. This is due to its qualities. They are energy efficient, powerful (lumens over 6000), come in warm and cool colors (3000K to 4200K) has excellent CRI (over 80 and in most cases over 90 CRI) and can provide foot-candles that can exceed 400. Halogens are hot, have lower CRI’s, do not maintain their color over the life of the bulb and are about a quarter to a third of power of a ceramic metal halide. Fluorescents are energy efficient but do not project enough power to be useful in a jewelry store when it comes to illuminating merchandise.

LED’s are the “buzz” but they have limitations and problems. LED technology is constantly changing. An LED fixture you buy today is (as in the case of a personal computer) will be outdated within a year. Keeping a consistent color of the LED over time can be problematic due to the changes in LED technology. LED’s can make jewelry look great inside of the showcase but are not powerful enough to be placed over the case where the sale is actually made. Due to this limitation, a different source of light is required above the showcase such as ceramic metal halide or halogen. This is where the problems occur. What happens is that there are two different sources of light each making a piece of jewelry look different. As an example … a customer see’s a piece of jewelry inside of a showcase being lit by an LED strip. They ask to have the salesperson take it out for them to see it. It is taken out and is now over the glass being illuminated by a DIFFERENT light source which makes the piece look different. The customer begins to wonder if the lighting inside the case is there to “trick” them into thinking the jewelry looks good. As sales are finalized on the “glass” having a light source that makes the jewelry look the same inside the case as it does above the case is crucial to closing a sale.

TIPS:

(1) Most designers who understand the proper way to light a jewelry store will tell you …

Should I Buy Pearls For My Girlfriend Or Is It Too Much

Well the answer is a qualified YES. Quite frankly it depends on how long you have known each other. If you want to give your “new” girlfriend something special then I would suggest a pair of White Freshwater Earrings. These are not too expensive however quite a thoughtful gift. However only buy “real” cultured pearls as sooner or later she will discover that they are fake and of course that will not go over very well.

If you have been seeing one another for a while… say over a month then I would suggest a nice white Freshwater pearl bracelet. longer than say a couple of months may be the time for a lovely white Freshwater or Akoya pearl necklace or tahitian pendant.

Now…. the time will come when a serious relationship exists and you really want something special. Well then look at the large Japanese Akoya Pearl Necklaces or even Hanadama (Mikimoto) Pearls. A less expensive alternative is the latest in Freshwater Pearl technology and is called the Freshwater Orient Pearls as these are 99% blemish free a a fraction of the Akoya Price.

Be very cautious about purchasing black or colored pearls for your girlfriend unless you know specifically that she likes colored pearls and has the complexion to wear these colors.

Pearls are the perfect gift for your girlfriend at any stage in the relationship. Go ahead and be confident with your purchase and watch her face!

Dresses And Accessories

What are the differences between a formal dress and a semi-formal dress? Formal usually means the same as Black Tie, but in some trendy cities like New York or Los Angeles, it could mean a black shirt, no tie with a tux. Women wear cocktail, long dresses or dressy evening separations.Semi-formal is the trickiest of all dress codes. Usually it means that tuxes are not required, nor are long dresses. An evening wedding (after 6 PM) would still dictate dark suits for him, and a cocktail dress for her. Daytime semi-formal events mean a suit for him and an appropriate short dress or dressy suit for her.

I have a Christmas party coming up and I would like any suggestions on bag and shoes that goes well with a black velvet mandarin collar, Asian accents dress. You will need a black handbag, say purse size, even a clutch bag. Shoes, I would wear either small ankle boots with a heel or a high heel sandal, strappy shoe, again with heels. The color of the shoes and bag will have to be silver or black.

A cocktail dress can be long or it also can fall into a mini, of course you have to have the legs to wear it. If you do wear it shorts a good sheer pantyhose is so important, and the higher heel will help to end. Black is a great color! It goes with everything; an all black outfit is very chic. It will look fabulous to wear black dress, black sheer tights and shoes, maybe a little higher then you would normally wear.

The best outfit to attend the opera. People wear all sorts of things to the opera, so you do not have to wear a certain thing except if it is opening night, because this is when everyone dresses up. You want to wear something smart, go for a little black dress if you have one, and if you want something more comfy and still chic wear a suit, and spice it up a bit with heels and accessories. As for a dress, go for not a full length, a simple cocktail length dress would be perfect. As for jewelry go simple. A pant suit with a shawl would be a good choice. Everything is OK to wear, as long as it is not the opening night.

I bought this lovely all red satin and chiffon knee-length dress. I plan on wearing gold sandals and a gold evening bag. I have a beautiful red wrap to use at the church. I think your ensemble sounds very classy. However, be careful not to overuse the gold. Do not wear large or chunky jewelry, and definitely no gold hoops. Keep your jewelry and all other accessories to a minimal since the gold sandals and evening bag will draw attention to them.

Remember that what you feel good in is the correct outfit for you ok! Fashion is what you want it to be!

Types of Jewellery Mounting Techniques

Stones and gems are often an essential element in a jewellery piece. They can add more charm, appeal and shimmer to the design of these precious pieces. However, these stones are not merely glued on a piece of jewellery, jewellers use appropriate techniques and ways of mounting called Jewellery Setting. Here are some jewellery setting techniques often used in mounting precious or semi precious stones to jewellery.

The Prong Setting is primarily used in mounting diamonds, pearls and gemstones. It consists of four to six vertical posts poked up from the base beneath the stone. These posts create a seat on which the stone will sits. The prongs or spikes are then folded over, onto the stone to embrace and hold it in place. This setting provides an modest and sleek appearance.

In order to mount flat-backed stones like cameos or cabochons, the Bezel Setting is employed by jewellers. This jewellery setting features a thin rim of precious metal which can be of either a decorative or simple designs, encircles the stone entirely or partially. The rim is then bent a little inward towards the stone to adhere it in place. A diamond mounted by bezel setting looks more elegant and is cosseted from accidental rubbing. This setting is more secure so the precious gem is unlikely to be dislodged.

The Channel Setting is described as a trough or a channel in the metal. This jewellery setting is akin to the bezel setting with no sides nor prongs. Notches are present on both sides of the channels on which the stones are mounted. This levels the stone atop the channel and sets the stones in a solid line.

The Channel Setting also has its variation called the Bar Setting. This mounting kind provides a look where a number of stones are seemingly floating in adjacent berths as every gem is docked in its respective private channel and separated from its neighboring stones by two pieces of thin bars of metal.

The Pave Setting is utilized in jewellery making to create a surface which seems being filled with small round stones, usually diamonds. Every piece of the gems lie in the drilled hole in the base of the setting. The stones are then fastened by small bead of metal pressed up against the stones. It creates an appearance of a stones blanket since each stone is slightly set apart by the width of the small beads.

The Bead Setting is a type of jewellery mounting that sets the stone into the metals through the use of gravers or burins (tiny chisels). The metal surface is directly drilled with a hole, then a ball burr is utilized to create a concave hollow with the same size as that of the stone.

Flush Setting is a variation of the Bezel Setting and is sometimes called the Gypsy Setting that appears similar with the bead setting. This is a recent type of setting that creates a fashionable appearance. Sandblasting is utilized to finish the mounting process. In this type of jewellery mounting, a window is cut from the base where the gem is set and secured underneath, the top or the crown may reach over the base which allows the gem to twinkle with light.

Cleaning The Ionic Way – Gets That Jewelry Sparkling!

Ionic cleaning – Never heard of it – or unsure how it works?

First, I will give you a quick run down on using the Ionic system.
It's pretty easy really. The basic unit, of the type I use, is like a small cauldron. It runs on one 9 volt battery. On the bottom, inside the unit, is a round aluminum plate. This creates a reaction with the solution you pour into the unit.

This solution is diluted with water. Only a small amount is mixed with water, typically 1 part concentrate to 6 parts water.

Once you have this set up you are ready to clean! If you are only cleaning one piece, all you do is to attach it to the unit's crocodile clip. If you have several pieces to clean, you can do them all in one go by placing them in the stainless steel wire basket that comes with the unit.
Although you can fill the basket up with jewelry, I have found, for best results each piece should not touch another. A little tip, when cleaning the likes of chains, you get best results by dipping section by section into the solution.

When you have everything ready, sit the item or basket in the solution you activate the unit by pressing a little red button on the side of the unit. Remove after whatever time period, rinse thoroughly and dry. That's basically it!

The amount of time to keep an item in the solution depends on a few things. The main point being the type of metal, sterling silver, other silver and base metal takes the least amount of time to clean. An exact time is difficult to pinpoint as it depends on the amount of tarnish or dirt on the piece. The average time is approximately 10 seconds – yes – only 10 seconds. Gold items, whether solid, plated, rolled / filled or whatever takes longer. Again, exact time depends on tarnish, etc., the average being 20 seconds. I have found the best way to approach all cleaning in the unit is to dip, rinse and check every 5 to 10 seconds and repeat as many times as necessary to get the best results.

As I said, there are other factors to consider though if you follow the dip, rinse, dip method you really can not go wrong. The worst thing to do is thinking that an item is so dirty, I'll leave it in for a minute or two – maybe even 3 minutes. This can result in damage through over exposure. Stick to seconds for each dip.

I have used this method on my jewelry for quite some time now and over time you get to know how long it takes for the various metals and concentrations of tarnish, dirt, etc.,
The results I have experienced on cubic zirconia stones is nothing short of fantastic, what a sparkle they have after cleaning! I have also cleaned some old and very dirty pieces with good results. Sometimes perfect results are not achievable if an item is so far gone, but certainly far superior results than using many other methods. Ionic cleaning gets into every nook and cranny.

Using this type of unit gives you cleaning and polishing in one easy step. It is a form of electro polishing. The Ionic system uses polishing agents and gentle soap cleansers to remove tarnish and dirt with a safe bubbling action. These bubbles are formed by the carefully controlled electrical current that passes through metals reducing surface tension of dirt and floating it and tarnish away – instantly. Restores metal lustre and stone brilliance. It is a safe cleaner for emeralds, opals, pearls and is an especially good cleaner for diamonds, really makes them sparkle.
The reason it is so good for so many stones is that the cleaning solution contains no acids or ammonia, it is also odorless. Using the same solution, you can clean gold, silver, gold-filled and costume jewelery.

Note: I have heard that drusy (quartz crystal) stones should not be cleaned in an ionic cleaner because of their delicate crystal structure. I have not tested that theory, but I do not recommend ionic cleaning of drusy unless you can first test a small piece of it that you do not mind messing up if it gets damaged. Always test small items or areas if unsure!

Now, a little more in depth information about the cleaning solution

The concentrate is an odorless cleaning solution an effective, fast-acting degreaser, which also removes oxidation and brightens metal to a like-new finish. It acts as the electrolyte in the ionic cleaning process and can be used repeatedly before it needs to be replaced. Dilution for general cleaning is 1 part concentrate to 6 parts water.

Indian Style Clothing

Clothing in India depends on geography, ethnicity, local cultural traditions and climate. It can vary from region to region.

Traditionally, Indian people clothing roots back to plain Langotis and loincloths (one-piece garment kept in place by a belt). They were mostly worn on a daily basis or on such festive occasions as dance performances and various rituals.

Today western clothing is commonly worn by Indian people of all social strata. India is well-known for its gorgeous diversity of fibers, weaves, materials and colors of traditional clothing. Moreover, clothing color codes followed by some people are based on the ritual and religion concerns. For example, Hindu women typically wear white-color clothes to indicate mourning.

Woman’s clothing

As we already mentioned, Indian woman’s clothing varies greatly depending on the religion, local culture and climate. Indian sarees and lehenga cholis (or Gagra cholis) are considered traditional clothing for women in the east and north, south women typically wear sarees and their children wear pattu langas.

The Glorious Jewelry of Ancient Rome

Buongiorno!

I lived in Italy for 5 years and adore this country. Their food, their language and their culture. Like a sponge, I soaked it all up. I particularly enjoyed the exhibits of ancient jewelry, lovingly displayed in museum showcases.

When one thinks of ancient Rome, visions of gladiators, their swords flashing in the Italian sun, billowing cloaks fastened in front with ornately decorated gold brooches, women in flowing robes, fabulous necklaces resting beneath a head of curls, comes to mind. Glorious drop earrings of coloured stones adorn their ears, gold snake-style bracelets their upper arms.

Jewelry was big in ancient Rome. Very big. Since the Romans believed that jewelry warded off the “Evil Eye”, no one went without at least one piece.

The most common pieces of jewelry in early Rome were brooches and rings. The brooch was a versatile item, securing not only cloaks but clothing in general. Since clothing was generally pinned rather than sewn, decorated items called a fibula, made of gold and decorated with semi-precious stones, were used to secure the folds.

The early Italians sculpted jewelry from crude gold, rather than silver. This jewelry was afforded by the nobles. The poor wore cheaper versions, usually from bone or cheaper natural stones.

Romans, because of the reach of the Roman Empire, were able to make their jewelry from a myriad of wonderful and exotic materials. They had access not only to gold, but to bronze, bone, and natural stones. Egypt provided them with the treasured Lapis Lazuli and pearl. They imported sapphires and diamonds from the East. Emeralds, amber, turquoise, amethysts, garnets were all present in Roman jewelry, adorning necks, wrists and arms, as long as 2,000 years ago.

The affluent women, adorned themselves with trinkets all the time, at home and when in public. It was a sign of wealth and stature, just as it is today. Bracelets, rings, amulets, necklaces, cameos and rings and an assortment of adornments on their heads such as tiaras, diadems and coronets. They copied the filigree finish which was an Egyptian style. Filigree is a delicate, lace-like design, made then in gold. Filigree is popular today and is found in costume jewelry that looks as real as the gold version. Bracelets were kept closed with a toggle-type pin. A closure that is used today for practical and decorative purposes.

Men were fond of finger rings, and were expected to wear at least one. Some men would display a ring on every finger. Placing a seal on documents, to keep the contents safe from the wrong eyes, to identify the sender and to show prestige. Rings with an engraved gemstone were used with wax.

Another popular and important item was a large pendant filled with perfume. At any time, they could dab a little on their wrists. Bathing was not a daily event, particularly with the poorer classes so this was a means to keep themselves smelling fresh.

For centuries, adorning ourselves with precious, semi-precious and imitation jewelry has been of significant importance.

Adorn yourself. Never be boring.

How to Clean a Diamond Ring

Diamond rings pick up quite some dirt and grime over the weeks and months they are on your finger and cleaning your diamond in order to bring it back to its original sparkling self is not as easy as it might seem as certain precautions must be taken before proceeding.

There are several cleaning methods of which the first, whether done at home or professionally is in using an electric high frequency vibrating machine where the diamond ring is placed in a recipient containing a special cleaning fluid and it is literally ‘shaken’ clean by the vibrations within the solution created by the machine.

We do not recommend this method as it can cause the diamond, especially if it is set in gold or silver and is of a certain size, to wiggle itself loose within the setting due to the vibrations.

This will allow a loose claw to get caught on any material. Pull apart, perhaps slowly, with as a result that the diamond will be prone to fall out especially if it is set between 4 claws.

So under no circumstances should you allow anyone to use such a method to clean your diamond ring even if it is offered to you free of charge unless of course you accept the risk factor.

The best method is what we call the ‘soap sud’ method.

You pour a small amount of boiling water in a small recipient in which a drop or two of liquid detergent has been added. Then taking an old tooth brush, dipped into the solution, you begin to brush the ring seeing to it that the bristles of the brush are penetrating the small openings around the diamond. This you do several times until you are satisfied that the bristles have penetrated all of the orifices around and within the mount and on the diamond itself.

Making sure, of course, that the sink has been blocked so that there is no risk of your ring falling into the water evacuation hole, rinse your diamond ring under the hot tap in order to remove whatever soap suds that may remain and then dry your ring using a clean kitchen towel or tissue.

Having done this there is one more important step to take and that involves methylated spirits.

Place the ring in a small recipient containing some methylated spirits for 15 seconds, then wiggle it a bit within the solution in order to create movement. The diamond ring is then dried using the kitchen towel or tissue again.

The methylated spirit will revive the brilliance of the metal and it will again shine and it will remove any ‘haze’ effect left by the liquid detergent, giving the diamond that extra sparkle it deserves.

This is the only method we at the Jewellery Web Shop actually recommend as no damage can be done to the diamond and its mount.

Under no circumstances must any hard objects be used to pry into the orifices of the ring nor anything harder than the bristles of a toothbrush as otherwise there is a risk of further scratching to the metal of the ring.

How to Clean Ostrich Leather Handbags

Ostrich is a soft and exquisite leather distinguished by its pattern of quill. It’s also one of the toughest, but most pliable of the exotic leathers. Full of natural oils, ostrich leather handbags have a high resistance to drying, cracking and stiffness. This is not a license to get careless with them, however. There are some specific guidelines that need to be followed in the care and cleaning of ostrich leather. When cared for properly, ostrich leather handbags can last a lifetime.

  • Ostrich leather handbags don’t require a lot of maintenance to keep them in good shape. But there are some things that you should avoid at all costs.
  • Don’t use any soaps or solvents on the leather. Ostrich leather doesn’t have a heavy finish like other exotic skins such as alligator or crocodile, so there isn’t much protecting it.
  • This is okay. The leather’s natural oils keep it soft and well conditioned. The oils from your hands will also help condition the leather, adding to its natural sheen. Ostrich leather handbags are known to improve in appearance over time.
  • It’s resiliency to drying and cracking protect it from the elements, but certain steps should be taken to prevent extended exposure to moisture and especially direct sunlight.
  • Because ostrich leather finishes are generally transparent, sunlight can cause the leather to fade over time.
  • Ideally, you’ll want to clean your purse at least bi-monthly.
  • To remove moisture, simply wipe off with a clean, dry cloth.
  • To remove stains, all you need to do is wipe it off using a clean, damp cotton cloth (not wet). Remove stains immediately so they don’t have time to set in.
  • Let the purse dry naturally, indoors. Don’t dry it in direct sunlight or with a hair dryer. If it got soaked in the rain, you can use a small fan. Be sure to wedge it open and turn it regularly so it dries evenly.
  • Don’t use any cleaners or conditioners for conventional leathers or other exotic leathers. We have heard of ostrich-specific products, but we haven’t tested any yet, so we can’t recommend them. We will be testing them in the future on our website.
  • For greasy stains, sprinkle a light layer of talcum powder onto the soiled area and let it sit for an hour. Brush it off using a clean, dry cloth. Don’t use brushes or paper as these can scratch the surface.
  • Ostrich leather should be stored in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • It should also be covered in its box or dust bag to prevent dust from settling on its surface.
  • Don’t fold or stress the purse in any way. Allow it to rest naturally, with plenty of space and nothing sitting on top of it, pressing it under its weight.
  • Tuck the strap inside, especially if there’s a chain or hardware on it. This will prevent it from scratching the leather.
  • Simply protecting ostrich leather handbags from the elements, not allowing stains to set and wiping off dust periodically will keep them in great shape.

Every stylish woman should add an ostrich leather handbag to her collection. The soft, supple leather feels gorgeous to your touch and the delicate pattern of the quill follicles is incredibly chic. It confers an air of sophistication and quality and though more expensive than most other exotic skins, it’s an investment that really does last for years. Ostrich leather handbags have been known to become family heirlooms, being passed on from one generation to the next. Understanding and caring regularly for your purse can give you a lifetime of happy memories and add to your stylish image.

The Importance Of A Sewing Accessory

For many people, the art of sewing is a long gone skill that is no longer necessary. As we head to the many retail stores that offer the clothes and other materials that we need, we find that there is no longer a need to sit down with our needle and thread – or at our sewing machine – and create a piece that we can easily purchase in a fraction of the time. But for others, sewing is a skill and hobby they will never relinquish as it allows them to save money and infuse their own personal style and creativity into every piece they make. And for these people, having the proper sewing accessory at hand at all times is necessary for success and enjoyment.

There are a great many fabric stores today that offer all that you need to complete your latest sewing project – miles and miles of fabric and every tool imaginable. Of course, the added benefit of these stores is the helpful and knowledgeable employees who will assist you in finding everything you need. In order to begin and successfully complete your project however, you must know what sewing accessory is integral in the process.

For those who sew by hand, the sewing accessory that is needed is very different than if they were to sew by machine. In addition to material, hand sewn items require a needle and a variety of thread colors that match your fabric. Additionally, fabric scissors, a ruler, and a thimble are all worthwhile tools. For those who sew by machine, the needle is still a necessary sewing accessory. Of course thread, scissors, and a ruler are also needed.

In either case, for most people, a pattern is, by far, the most important sewing accessory needed to get the job done right. A pattern will act as a template to help you design and complete the project. A well-chosen sewing accessory will put you well on your way to a beautiful outcome.
