Look Attractive With Your Designer Sunglasses

Probably the beautiful Jackie O made sunglasses a craze! Or it could also be those cowboys in the Hollywood westerns, who're seen flaunting those Ray-Ban sunglasses and looking like studs! Nevertheless, irrespective of who started the craze and when, it is undeniable that sunglasses are a fashion statement today. Moreover, because they are not just an accessory, their utilitarian features make them a must-have for all.

Sunglasses come in many designs, and each one of them is designed to suit certain kinds of faces and looks. Have you ever gone shopping for sunglasses and never really found the perfect pair? Don't worry, you're not alone.

It is hard to find one that you can wear and say 'perfect'! Nevertheless, if you do come across the right pair of sunglasses, you will see how wearing them makes you looks so amazing. People can transform their looks radically with the help of a perfect pair of eye wear.

Want to Buy Designer Sunglasses?

The biggest problem with designer sunglasses is their price tags. In general, the range starts from somewhere around $ 500 to $ 1000. Now that is going to burn a massive hole in most of our pockets. If you are running on a short budget, designer eyewear should be the last thing on your mind. Undoubtedly, they all look gorgeous, but their price makes them an impossible purchase for the average buyer.

With fashion styles changing nearly every season, it can get a bit impractical to keep splurging on designer glasses. Moreover, there are differences between summer wear and winter ones. What if you are going on a vacation? You will have to keep the weather and other conditions in mind. Therefore, if you want to be trendy, you will have to be up-to-date with changing styles and necessities. Now, wasting your money on different kinds of designer glasses is just plain silly when you have other options.

Fake Designer Eyewear- Beware

If you want to keep in tune with the changing fashion trends, you can try designer inspired sunglasses. Do not mix them up with the fake sunglasses that are available for dirt-cheap prices. There is a huge difference between fake sunglasses that copy designer wear and designer inspired sunglasses. True, the fake ones are replicas of the original designs, but they are made of extremely low quality. Because of their low standard material and built they don't last long either. In any case, you should never compromise on your eyes and wear fake sunglasses that always use bad quality lens. The thing about fake sunglasses is that even though they copy the logo of the expensive brand, it is extremely easy to differentiate a fake from an original.

Designer (Inspired) Sunglasses!

In contrast to the fake sunglasses, the designer inspired sunglasses are produced and sold by brands legally. They are made of good quality material and are very much affordable. Although the designs are very similar, the manufacturing companies do not copy the logo of any brand onto the glasses. However, their quality makes them durable products. They are just perfect to keep in style with changing trends. You can buy many pairs at affordable rates. Moreover, there is nothing like getting a hold of wholesale products, for they are far cheaper than usual retail product prices.

So, go ahead and buy yourself a pair of those classy eyewear and be the eye catcher of your town. Have fun!

The Current Best Aviator Sunglasses

The following gives details on some of the best aviator sunglasses currently available. Aviator sun glasses were first used by the air force and then they became popular when the movie Top Gun was released. The very first aviator sunglasses were made by Ray-Ban and were also known as Pilot Shades. It should be noted that pilots never wore them when flying but they could quickly and easily put them on when their face shield or helmet was off.

Aviator sunglasses tend to have lenses that are two to three times larger than your eye socket and are reflective. They tend to have frames that hook behind the ears. Most contemporary aviator sun glasses are polarized though pilots will not wear aviator sunglasses as they can make seeing other aircraft difficult.

Aviator sun glasses came by their names because of the teardrop shape of the lens. Aviators have been popular since the 1960s though interestingly enough pilots did not wear sunglasses to fly. These sunglasses are curved and will protect your eyes from as much light as possible. They stop glare and completely protect the eye.

Dolce & Gabbana aviator sunglasses are very popular style for men. These aviators have metal frames with gray / green lenses. They are appropriate for all face shapes and will look good with everything. Vogue Aviator Sunglasses are available in black and tortoise and wrap around the eye.

YSL has aviator sun glasses have plastic frames with brass hardware. They provide complete UVA / UVB protection and are always stylish. They are made in Italy and come in the color chocolate. John Varvatos aviator sunglasses are available at Nieman Marcus. These aviators have burgundy lenses that come with brown metal frames or blue gradient lenses with gunmetal frames. The logo is on the inner temple.

Another top aviator sunglasses are from DKNY. These sunglasses have metal frames. As with other aviators they are reflective and the lenses can come in several shades and colors. Dior Homme aviator sun glasses are popular for men. These aviators tend to be a bit more rock'n roll than previous aviators. They are tortoise and chrome and the lenses can come in black or palladium.

Alexander McQueen offers many different styles of aviator lenses. One of their best is specifically for females. They can be made for prescription lenses or non prescription lenses. They come in several different colors. Chanel aviator sun glasses are also popular for females and has the traditional Chanel logo. They are large structured frames and have an acetate tulle affect on the frames.

Designer Sunglasses for Men

The first known sunglasses were used in ancient Rome, around 60 A.D., where the ruling elite used a primitive version of the modern sunglass to protect the eyes from the sun’s glare. It is reported that the Emperor Nero used to watch gladiator events, which took place outdoors under the bright Roman sun, through sophisticated polished gems to reduce glare. The Emperor Nero may have been the original trendsetter of designer sunglasses for men. The ancient Roman sunglasses were simple eyepieces and did not block out UV rays, nor correct vision.

In ancient China, around the 12th century, presiding judges used dark glasses to mask their facial expressions from witnesses and in public settings. The lenses were constructed from smoke-colored quartz lenses, which hid the judges’ eyes from the public, while enabling them to see. Although this form of ancient eyewear, strictly speaking, was not used as a sunglass because it was not designed to shield the eyes from the sun, it is still considered a forefather of modern day designer sunglasses for men.

Between the years 1400 and 1750, several developments took place that shaped the history of sunglasses. During the 1430s, Italian opticians discovered how to correct vision impairments with corrective lenses, and started offering prescription lenses. As more and more people started using eyeglasses, they were beginning to be considered as a practical, functional device rather than a vanity item for scholars or elites. The utility of eyeglasses was further bolstered during the early1600s when the concave lens was invented. Another notable change, a simple and brilliant addition to early eyeglasses, came in 1730 when one Edward Scarlett came up with the idea of solid sidebars which could hold eyeglasses in front of the eyes, without slipping off. Up until then, eyeglasses had to held in place.

The next installment of change in designer sunglasses for men came during the eighteenth century through the work of an enterprising optician by the name of James Ayscough. He believed that eyeglasses with green or blue tinted lenses could potentially correct some types of eyesight impairment. He experimented with colored lenses solely as a means of correcting vision problems, and not to protect the eyes from the sun.

The sunglass as we know it today was introduced to the U.S. by Sam Foster in the late 1920s. This was the beginning of the Foster Grant saga. Foster’s products were genuine sunglasses, in that they were designed to protect the eyes from the sun. Foster had stumbled upon a ready market, and the new product took off in leaps and bounds. Another significant technological advancement came in 1936, when the inventor of the Polaroid filter, Edwin Land, started employing his patented technology on sunglasses. Soon after, fashion-conscious elites and Hollywood heroes and starlets took to the sunglass phenomenon, and a new cultural icon was born in the form of designer sunglasses for men and women.

How and Why Skin Ages

For as long as one can remember, it has always been the pursuit of many to keep their youthful looks, even at great costs. And in this day and age, the trend has not changed. Now more than ever, methods, techniques and treatments meant to retain that "youthful glow" proliferate everywhere. As it is the most telltale sign of getting old, anti-aging goods and services account for billions of dollars spent in the hopes of delaying the onset of skin aging.

Unfortunately, many have been and are misinformed on how and why the skin ages misleading these same people into buying products that only offer short-lived, if not unsuccessful and disappointing, results.

It is therefore only smart to know just how the skin develops over time. In understanding the hows and whys of aging skin, the correct habits and treatments can then be developed to retain as much one's youthful looks for as long a time as possible.

First off, there are two types of aging for the skin. There is the intrinsic (internal) aging, which is caused by factors within one's own body, such as genes and body condition; and extrinsic (external) aging, which is caused by factors outside one's body, such as sunlight and lifestyle.

Intrinsic (internal) aging

Aging is a natural process and our genes determine how one goes through that process. For some, aging can set on earlier or later than most. On average, signs of skin aging begin to appear in the mid-20s.

As one grows older, the skin's ability to snap back to shape (elasticity) starts to decrease. That is because skin cells do not regenerate as fast as they used to – resulting to tougher, older skin. Although internal aging begins in one's 20s, the typical signs of wrinkles and sagging skin do not appear for until about a couple of decades more.

Other signs that indicate skin aging are thinning, loss of firmness, dryness, and reduction of sweat production that prevents proper cooling of the body.

Extrinsic (external) aging

Factors outside one's own genes accelerate skin aging. Lifestyles and habits carry more impact of why aging skin occurs more prematurely in one's lifetime.

Sun exposure

With the present condition our atmosphere is in, harmful rays from the sun pass through in ever increasing amounts causing damage to the skin and hampering its ability to repair itself. Over a period of time, a few minutes a day of exposure to ultraviolet rays results in changes to the skin (freckles, age spots, rough skin). An even graver symptom would be the onset of skin cancer. Dermatologists call this effect photo aging in reference to the sun's rays that reduce the production of collagen responsible for maintaining the skin's elasticity.

One's susceptibility to photo aging is determined by the amount of pigment in the skin as well as the frequency and duration one spends under the sun's rays. Given these factors, fair-skinned individuals and those who spend long periods under the sun stand to have more pronounced effects of photo aging compared to those who are darker-skinned and spend more time in the shade.

Facial Exercises

Ironically, the routine once prescribed to prevent facial wrinkles is actually one of the causes of that very thing one aims to avoid. Facial exercises cause the muscles on the face to fold and crease the skin. As the skin's elasticity decreases, the skin starts to take on the creases more permanently causing deep wrinkles on the face.

Cigarette smoking does not only cause harm to the body internally but externally as well. This is most pronounced with the condition of the skin. Nicotine intake causes changes in the body that speeds up the break down of skin cells, among other harmful effects.

It is a common finding that individuals who've been smokers for at least a decade look comparably older than those who do not smoke. In addition to wrinkles, yellowish discoloration of the skin has been observed in smokers. However, the good news is that those who have given up smoking show improvements in their skin condition shortly after quitting.

The signs of skin aging will inevitably show up on everyone at one point or the other. All sorts of products and treatments can be availed of but it is only meant to delay the outward symptoms.

Perhaps the best solution is to understand the aging process and not view it as a disease, but rather see it as another stage of development the body undergoes – a solution that requires no prescription and is free of charge.

How Sports Sunglasses Combine Style with Effectiveness

There are all kinds of sports that involve long hours spent in the sun. In these same sports, visibility is a key factor in success. Outdoor sports such as hiking, snowboarding, golfing, cycling, skiing, and tennis are very heavy on vision, and so reducing the glare from the sun is a great help. The practical uses for sunglasses are easy to understand, but many may wonder how sunglasses can fulfill everyday needs and still look good.

Ideally, sports sunglasses will both help the athlete perform better, and look good. In order to understand how this is done, it is important to know the technical elements that sports sunglasses must contain. Sports sunglasses must be able to reduce glare and protect the athlete's eyes from harmful UV rays. Sunglasses need to also reduce brightness, while not hindering vision. Regular sunglasses can sometimes be very dark (which is good when lying on the beach, but not when snowboarding in the mountains). Some people also have prescriptions. As a result, sports sunglasses may have to customized to help the wearer see in ways other than simply reducing light.

Different lens shades offer different types of protection. Fortunately, different shades also provide unique style for an athlete. Sports sunglasses will often have shades of green, blue, red, or orange. These shades may look very hip, but they are also serving a definite purpose. For example, in golf, Bolle sunglasses have EagleVision 2 lenses that can enhance contrast in the green part of the color spectrum. This is accomplished through both the type of lens and its shade. Sunglasses also have different types of frames. These frames can be very stylish. At the same time, these frames can meet special needs for certain sports. In some sports with heavy motion, frames can be very strong and somewhat tight on the head. Some designers may make these frames look very unique. An example of a frame used in sports is the Oakley Pro M Frame. This frame has a hinge-less design which can respond acutely to inertial changes in a specific sport. For sports such as golf, frames are not as important, and so more leeway can be taken in regards to style.

The best way that sunglasses combine style with effectiveness is by being made to fulfill specific customer needs. There are many companies that allow customers to customize sunglasses to meet the demands of a specific sport. Many people will choose shades, frames, and designs that are pleasing to them aesthetically, as well as technically. Some of the most popular sunglasses on the market can protect the eyes and look great. These brands include Oakley, Costa Del Mar, Action Optics, Bolle, Fitovers, and others. With sports sunglasses, it is very possible to look great while being protected from the sun and improving one's game. Finally, you can have your cake and eat it too!

Sunglasses in Pop Culture

Sunglasses have been seen in pop culture periodically throughout the 20th century. They definitely help to accessorize whichever look you’re going for, whether it be glamorous, cool or dazed out hippie. If you love sunglasses like I do, it may interest you to learn about the different styles of sunglasses that have been popular in the 20th century. Below are some of the more popular frames and styles.

Aviator: Most commonly manufactured by Ray Ban, Aviator sunglasses have gone up and down in popularity since they made their appearance. They were first designed in 1936 and were meant for U.S. military aviators. They became a huge trend with young people in the 1960s, which gave birth to other styles of aviators, such as mirrored, colored and wrap around styles. The popularity of aviators dropped in the 1990s, but then regained popularity around 2001 with many Hollywood celebrities.

Oversized: Like aviators, oversized sunglasses have dropped and risen in popularity since their debut. Jackie O first started the oversized sunglasses trend with her gigantic black frames in the 1960s. This quickly became a popular item amongst women. They dropped in popularity in the 70s, when they started to be used for comedic and theater purposes. Elton John often wore oversized sunglasses as part of his shows. They again became fashionable in the 1980s amongst celebrities and street kids. They dropped popularity in the 90s with the grunge era, but we see oversized sunglasses making their way back to popular culture, with celebrities commonly seen with their coffee and oversized frames.

Tea Shades: These are often also called “John Lennon glasses,” or “Ozzy Osbourne glasses.” Sometimes they are even called “granny glasses.” These were most popular in the 1960s by the hippie counterculture. They come in all kinds of colors, including black, purple and red, and they are known for their psychedelic features. When tea shades were extremely popular in the 1960s, celebrities and rock stars were often seen wearing flamboyant and elaborated tea shade sunglasses. They were often excessively large, mirrored, and were made from different colors. The more unique the lens, the more popular they were. Rock stars like Jimi Hendrix, Mick Jagger and Janice Joplin were often seen wearing unique tea shade sunglasses. Tea shades are difficult to find today as a fashion item, but can be found in costume stores or online.

Sunglasses are an item that everyone must have, not only because they protect our eyes from the sun, but because they can add to your look and complete your wardrobe. If you love sunglasses but can’t afford to constantly buy expensive pairs, buying wholesale sunglasses may be a good option for you. You can save money while still getting great looking sunglasses.

Vintage Aviator Sunglasses – Hip and Cool

Even if there are already a lot of new styles for glasses these days, there are still plenty of men and women who are looking for vintage aviator sunglasses. This then makes you ask, "What's in them that make them transcend time?" Is it because of their functionality, form, or history? Find out today.

The Popularity of Vintage Aviator Sunglasses

One of the reasons why vintage aviator sunglasses are still selling like hotcakes today is because they do not look the same as the other optics that are being sold in the market. If the lenses used in some aviators are huge, the vintage ones are definitely way bigger. In fact, it's common for older lenses to be three times as large as your eye socket. You would also notice that their frames are usually made of metal, and they could perfectly fit on your ears. This way, there's a lesser chance that you're going to drop your glasses or lose them.

You can also attribute its popularity with the people who have worn them. James Dean and Elvis Presley were just two of the well-known hot men of heydays who had don on those glasses, which were then called wayfares. Moreover, though they were not as famous as these celebrities, aviators were worn by men who were in the force, such as the navy, army, and even the police.

Vintage aviator sunglasses were further popularized when the then Jacqueline Onassis started to sport huge sunglasses wherever she went. In fact, her style was then called the Jacky O. Her sunglasses were not necessarily aviators, but she did not take away the fact that both types of optics shared huge lenses. It was not long before a lot of women hunted for such glasses in their favorite optical shops.

Today, vintage aviator sunglasses were continued to be brought to life by a lot of celebrities, including Nicole Richie. She loved to wear anything vintage, and that includes sporting her own aviator.

Where to Get Vintage Aviators

Vintage aviators are also available in wide varieties of colors, most of them psychedelic or definitely eye-popping. It's not surprising to see aviators that have yellow, orange, or red frames.

If you're interested in getting your own version of vintage aviators, then, you may have to look for them in a number of great places.

You can begin your search in auction websites such as eBay. You would definitely find a lot of sellers who are offering old aviators at a very cheap price. Most of these glasses have been manufactured since the 1930s, the time when Ray-Ban came up with the line. However, the bulk of them were created around 1960s and 1970s. If you're going for something authentic, make sure that you can confirm the production date and the brand.

You can also ask your grandsparents and parents if they have existing aviators with them. The branded ones can certainly last for a long time, provided they are given proper care. This way, you will not have to spend any money on brand-new vintage aviator sunglasses.

Benefit From the Latest Digital X-Ray Scanners

The use of x-ray imaging as a diagnostic tool in medicine dates back to 1895, following Wilhelm Röntgen's discovery that x-rays could have been used to create images of internal bone structures. Within days of the German physicist's discovery, the technique was being adopted by doctors to help diagnose patient's medical complaints faster and more accurately than ever before.

Today there are understood to be over 5 billion diagnostic medical tests performed every year, of which two thirds involve the use x-rays demonstrating the huge medical significance of the discovery and its continued importance in medicine to this day.

Advances in Radiology

There have been numerous advances in technology since Rontgen's discovery, although it was not until the 1960's that the first digital x-ray images were first produced. Digital imaging equipment and the accompanying computer software and hardware to store and view images were developed in the 1970's and 1980's, and today, these modern x-ray services are being offered in hospitals and major medical clinics the world over.

Benefits of Digital X-Ray Imaging

There are numerous advantages to a digital x-ray over photographic film method of recording an image. From a patient's perspective the benefits are fundamental. The latest equipment allows images to be produced in less time and it can be transmitted immediately to a referring doctor. This greatly speeds up the time taken to diagnose injuries and illnesses.

However, the largest benefit to the patient is the dose of radiation received. Photographic film requires exposure to higher intensity pulses of x-rays in order to create sufficient contrast in the image and uses far lower doses of radiation, while producing images of superior quality with greater diagnostic value.

Digital images are affected less by under and over exposure and radiographs can check the image instantly while a patient is still present. Should shadows be present on the images, further x-rays can be taken reducing the inconvenience caused to the patient.

Radiographers can also subject a digital image to a number of image enhancing techniques to improve image clarity, which results in better quality images with greater diagnostic value. There is also a substantial cost advantage, as the images do not require costly photographic film and chemicals to develop the image.

Digital X-Ray

Many clinics and hospitals across the country now offer digital x-ray services to patients. However, the cost of new scanners can be prohibitively expensive for some smaller clinicians and access to the latest low-dose digital x-ray scanners may not be possible without making a trip to a major city.

Quite a few private radiology clinics are now offering state of the art equipment to residents in the suburbs, with companies such as Insight Radiology now offering digital X-ray. Residents no longer need to travel long distances to have the safest imaging tests performed and can benefit from scans taken on state of the art equipment using a fraction of the dose of x-rays used to develop photographic images.

Cryptocurrency’s Rocky Road: China’s ICO Ban

In the wake of China’s ICO ban, what befalls the world of cryptocurrencies?

The biggest event in the cryptocurrency world recently was the declaration of the Chinese authorities to shut down the exchanges on which cryptocurrencies are traded. As a result, BTCChina, one of the largest bitcoin exchanges in China, said that it would be ceasing trading activities by the end of September. This news catalysed a sharp sell-off that left bitcoin (and other currencies such as Etherium) plummeting approximately 30% below the record highs that were reached earlier this month.

So, the cryptocurrency rollercoaster continues. With bitcoin having increases that surpass quadrupled values from December 2016 to September 2017, some analysts predict that it can cryptocurrencies can recover from the recent falls. Josh Mahoney, a market analyst at IG comments that cryptocurrencies’ “past experience tells us that [they] will likely brush these latest challenges aside”.

However, these sentiments don’t come without opposition. Mr Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, remarked that bitcoin “isn’t going to work” and that it “is a fraud… worse than tulip bulbs (in reference to the Dutch ‘tulip mania’ of the 17th century, recognised as the world’s first speculative bubble)… that will blow up”. He goes to the extent of saying that he would fire employees who were stupid enough to trade in bitcoin.

Speculation aside, what is actually going on? Since China’s ICO ban, other world-leading economies are taking a fresh look into how the cryptocurrency world should/ can be regulated in their regions. Rather than banning ICOs, other countries still recognise the technological benefits of crypto-technology, and are looking into controlling the market without completely stifling the growth of the currencies. The big issue for these economies is to figure out how to do this, as the alternative nature of the cryptocurrencies do not allow them to be classified under the policies of traditional investment assets.

Some of these countries include Japan, Singapore and the US. These economies seek to establish accounting standards for cryptocurrencies, mainly in order to handle money laundering and fraud, which have been rendered more elusive due to the crypto-technology. Yet, most regulators do recognise that there seems to be no real benefit to completely banning cryptocurrencies due to the economic flows that they carry along. Also, probably because it is practically impossible to shut down the crypto-world for as long as the internet exists. Regulators can only focus on areas where they may be able to exercise some control, which seems to be where cryptocurrencies meet fiat currencies (i.e. the cryptocurrency exchanges).

While cryptocurrencies seem to come under more scrutiny as time progresses, such events do benefit some countries like Hong Kong. Since the Chinese ICO ban, many founders of cryptocurrency projects have been driven from the mainland to the city. Aurelian Menant, CEO of Gatecoin, said that the company received “a high number of inquiries from blockchain project founders based in the mainland” and that there has been an observable surge in the number of Chinese clients registering on the platform.

Looking slightly further, companies like Nvidia have expressed positivity from the event. They claim that this ICO ban will only fuel their GPU sales, as the ban will likely increase the demand for cryptocurrency-related GPUs. With the ban, the only way to obtain cryptocurrencies mined with GPUs is to mine them with computing power. As such, individuals looking to obtain cryptocurrencies in China now have to obtain more computing power, as opposed to making straight purchases via exchanges. In essence, Nvidia’s sentiments is that this isn’t a downhill spiral for cryptocurrencies; in fact, other industries will receive a boost as well.

In light of all the commotion and debate surrounding cryptocurrencies, the integration of the technology into the global economies seem to be materialising hastily. Whether or not you believe in the future of the technology, or think that it is a “fraud… that will blow up”, the cryptocurrency rollercoaster is one worth your attention.
